Advancement

The Wheaton Christian Grammar School Annual Fund provides operating funds that support the ongoing work and programs of the school. It provides an immediate impact on the school by helping meet the increasing costs of educating students, costs that tuition and other revenue alone cannot cover.

The 2007-2008 Annual Fund goal is $500,000 and we encourage school families and friends of the school to participate in achieving this goal. The 2007-2008 Annual Fund runs through the end of our fiscal year, June 30, 2008.

You can double or even triple the value of your gift if you or your spouse work for a company that offers a matching gift program. Complete a matching gift form available through your company's benefits department and submit it to Wheaton Christian Grammar School along with your gift, and we'll take care of the rest-it's that easy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where does the Annual Fund money go?
A: All money raised for the Annual Fund goes into the operating budget, which means that it pays for the books in the library, the soccer balls and music stands, the salary of your favorite teacher, the paint brushes and the clay in the art room, the microscopes in the science lab, and much, much more.

Q: How does the Annual Fund fit into Wheaton Christian Grammar School 's larger financial picture?
A: By combining a healthy Annual Fund with income generated from tuition and fees, Wheaton Christian Grammar School is able to keep tuition prices from rising too sharply. At the same time, the proceeds from the Annual Fund give WCGS an opportunity to attract and retain the best faculty, offer competitive financial aid, further enhance our academic programs, and fund the many other initiatives that make a Wheaton Christian Grammar School educational experience so unique.

Q: Why should I contribute to the Annual Fund?
A: Contributing to the Wheaton Christian Grammar School Annual Fund is one of the simplest and most important acts of support to help the school. Your gift, whether it is $2,500 or $25, will make an important difference for Wheaton Christian Grammar School. The Annual Fund is about all of us joining together to make a significant impact for our students and preserving the Wheaton Christian Grammar School legacy. Your support demonstrates your commitment to Christ-centered education for current students and future generations.

Q: If tuition alone doesn't cover the whole cost of educating each child, why not just raise tuition?
A: Raising tuition to such an extent would have two disadvantages: the entire burden would be borne solely by current parents, and such increases would exclude many students. Through the Annual Fund we can offer all the supporters of the school (not only current parents) the opportunity to make tax-deductible gifts as they are able.

Q: What is the difference between annual giving and capital and/or endowed giving?
A: The Annual Fund is used for annual expenses. Capital and endowed gifts are for building and special projects. The Annual Fund helps us live. Capital funds help us grow.

Q: How much should we give?
A: It is hoped that parents and alumni will give as generously as possible to Wheaton Christian Grammar School. Every single gift, regardless of the amount, is valued. Even if families receive financial aid, it is hoped that they will make a gift in order to join in the common mission of demonstrating community support for the school.

There are also many other school events and programs that require volunteer and financial support; participation in any or all is greatly appreciated. In addition, Wheaton Christian Grammar School conducts periodic capital and endowment campaigns. However, the Annual Fund is the core fundraising activity that provides essential funds for running the school and balancing the budget.
