    2012 Harvest for Scholarships Recap

We’ve talked about, written about, and prayed about our Harvest for Scholarships Gala over the last few months.  Now that the guests have returned home, the floors have been swept, and we’ve tallied the results, I’m sure you’ll want to know what God has accomplished in our midst.

Alumnus David Moore ’77 stirred our memories of days gone by as he considered the long-term impact of his years at WCGS.  He reflected on the people and experiences that have shaped his life as a business owner, soccer coach, husband to Lissy, and father to grads Davis and Devin.   David reminded us of the investment required and substantial dividends realized as we provide a Christ-centered education for our children.

Radio host Janet Parshall captured our attention with her riveting presentation.  She emphasized the unique privilege we have to present truth – God’s Truth – to our students.  In a world that is increasingly hostile to the Gospel, Janet urged us to stay on task!  When she returned to the nation’s capitol on Tuesday to record her daily broadcast, we were delighted to hear her tell her national audience, “Wheaton Christian Grammar School in Winfield, Illinois … oh wow, what a Christian school!  Absolutely fabulous … a long, rich history … teaching kids with a biblical worldview for over seven decades … really committed to offering an outstanding education … and a crystal clear worldview predicated on the Truth.”

In the midst of great fellowship, a beautiful setting, and with delicious food and inspiring student music, God moved many of our guests to contribute toward our $400,000 Harvest for Scholarships goal.   Gifts and pledges are still arriving, and we are now at $91,000 in contributions.   That’s a great answer to prayer!

If you affirm our mission of educating, training and nurturing students for godliness and excellence, you can still contribute toward this need!  Our online donation site allows contributions in a convenient and secure manner -- and it's linked here.  We will be most grateful for your partnership as we proclaim God’s Truth and help shape young lives to be tomorrow’s leaders.  May the Lord bless you richly.
