There are many schools with a faith component ... what makes WCGS different?   We believe that Christianity is at its heart transformational: true faith will result in spiritual growth.  Since we believe that the Bible is the true and inspired Word of God, we strive to view all academic disciplines and all relationships through the grid of Scripture.

We want our school, our faculty, and our students to reflect the unchanging truths revealed in God's Word.  Our 2010-2011 year verse is Psalm 86:11, "Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name."

We take prayer seriously.
Prayer is a natural part of every student's experience at WCGS.  Teachers meet twice each week for Bible study and prayer.   See You at the Pole, an international student movement of prayer, is an annually observed event at WCGS.  (Mark your calendar for  the next observance on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 8 a.m.)  And it's not just students, faculty and staff who are praying.  School parents meet regularly to pray for our students, our teachers, and our school (Fathers' Prayer Meeting and Breakfasts, Moms in Touch, Women's Bible Study).

Chapels, held once each month, examine our school verses in depth and provide practical application.  The junior high worship team leads their grade level chapel.  Speakers include teachers, administrators, parents, and local pastors.   Wondering what a typical chapel is like?  Watch Now  or ... A Biblical worldview
means that we strive to teach students how to think, not just what to think.  It's our goal that students would be so infused with the Word of God and so surrounded by godly mentors, that they will learn to make decisions based on God's changeless Word, rather than on the shifting tides of culture.

Teachers are not just here to teach, but to mentor.  Each teacher is a committed and born-again follower of Jesus Christ.  Faculty group devotions set the tone that is carried into the classroom.

Connect Groups provide another avenue for discipleship of junior high students.  Each week, groups of 8-10 junior high students meet with a teacher or administrator to talk about what's on their minds, and to receive biblically-grounded direction from caring adults.  WCGS students don't receive formula answers to life's tough questions.  Rather, we focus on teaching students how to think critically and filter questions through the grid of God's unchanging Word.

Service activities connect us to the community and allow our students to be the hands and feet of Christ to those in need.
