Each fall, our school families and friends gather for a gala dinner to help fund our Scholarship Fund. The 2009 event featured:
- Alumnus Jennifer Marshall ('86), Director of Domestic Policy Studies for the Washington, D.C. based Heritage Foundation.
- Alumnus Jonathan Roth ('98), guitarist, a doctoral candidate at the University of Southern California.
- Wheaton College President (and WCGS grandparent) Dr. Duane Litfin asked "Will You Lay a Godly Foundation for the Next Generation?" He proposed that a Godly foundation is defined by a life where "no nook or cranny is not touched by the Lordship of Christ." Reminding the audience that the next generation faces a world characterized by an invasive popular culture and an increasingly media-drenched society, he encouraged listeners to invest in what will help students thrive -- not just survive. Dr. Litfin urged parents and friends of the school to provide the support needed for WCGS to help students skillfully navigate the tumultuous seas of today's world and live as effective instruments for Christ.
